A black-tie affair with flair--that is what the Hooray Gala is known for. Each year Hospice of Northern Virginia and Hospice Care of DC sponsor a variety of fundraising events throughout the Washington area. The Hooray for Hospice Gala theme for the 1999 event was "space and future" with a tie into the new Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. The freeflowing illustration technique was also used for the signs and posters the night of the event. Working with area printers and vendors, the expenses for the invitation and accompanying items were donated or discounted to keep costs low.
